Bank base rate stays the same

At noon today, the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee announced that it had voted to keep the official UK Bank Base Rate at 0.5%, which had been widely predicted by economists.

It has now been at that level for a record-breaking year, as the last change in interest base rate was the 0.5% drop which took it to 0.5% on 5 March last year.
