Thirsk Surveyors
A Local and Independent Surveying Service
Thirsk Surveyors are independent Surveyors covering Thirsk and the surrounding area. We provide expert, tailored advice on all types of property and buildings, including residential and commercial properties.
When purchasing your new home, the right survey by a qualified Chartered Surveyor can help you make an informed final decision on a property. If your Chartered Surveyor identifies any significant defects in the property being inspected, your professional survey report may help you renegotiate the purchase price.
Party Wall Act Surveys and Services
We are able to provide Party Wall surveys and awards for residential and commercial properties, as well as schedules of condition and dilapidations.
Under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996, every ‘adjoining owner’ is subject to the provisions of the Act when one person carries out work on their home. In a typical domestic property scenario this is usually limited to one or two parties. Larger commercial developments can encompass many freehold properties and tenanted properties. The notices and recording of condition should always follow the protocol of the Party Wall Acts.
Thirsk Surveyors will act for the party carrying out the building works, as joint surveyors acting to make sure matters are appropriately dealt with as well as for the neighbouring property owners to protect their interests.

Thirsk
Located in the heart of North Yorkshire, Thirsk has a number of period properties and remains a thriving market town. It is also a popular tourist destination located close to the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors. Thirsk is linked by more modern housing developments to Sowerby, although the parishes remain separate.
Thirsk was listed in the Domesday survey and the town is built around a large medieval market square which was established in 1145. Farming has long been the main business of the area, although Thirsk was once known for its leather tanning and saddlery trade.
There is a 15th century grade I listed Church called St. Mary’s in the town as well as the Thirsk Cricket Club and Thirsk Museum.
