Spray foam loft insulation and why you shouldn’t use it

A couple have been approached by a company that told them their insulation had been carried out inappropriately and that it should be removed. Not knowing what to do, they contacted their local independent Chartered Surveyor to ask for proportionate advice with respect to whether, and how, to remove the insulation or take any other action.


Homeowner frustrations over NHBC process

The National House Building Council (NHBC) should mean that any issues with the new build property are dealt with by the builder and covered by insurance over the first ten years of the building’s ‘life’. However, even a ten year warranty has left some new build home owners with problem homes.

House builder Taylor Wimpey has been told to remove a property built without planning permission. The property in Cranbrook is located on the high street and was erected to serve as a sales centre for the company.
